The viral LinkedIn launch playbook.

This playbook has generated over 1M LinkedIn impressions and multiple $100,000s in tracked MRR for B2B companies.

In June a client launched to 181,619 impressions and 137 hours of video watch time. In August another filled his waitlist inside 24 hours. Same playbook both times, and most of it ran in the five days before either post went up.

Almost everyone treats the post as the launch. It's about a fifth of it, and it's the fifth that happens last.

The part that decides the outcome is unglamorous. You build a list of fifty people who'd be genuinely pleased for you, message every one of them personally four days out, and follow each message with a calendar invite for launch hour. The ask is the same three words every time: like, comment, save. Save is the one people skip and it's the strongest of the three.

Then there's the mechanic that surprised me. The August launch asked for two actions instead of one: comment below, and fill in the form. 554 people clicked the link and 343 commented, which are two separate funnels, and most of the qualified signups never touched the link at all. A post carrying only the link gets the 554 and nothing underneath it.

Everything in the document has a number against it, including the parts that went badly. Three weeks after his launch the same founder posted something motivational; it did 72,031 impressions, nearly double the launch, and produced seven followers and no signups.

  1. 01Both launches in full: impressions, clicks, comments, watch time, followers
  2. 02The five day outreach sequence, who to message and when
  3. 03The comment gate, and why it doubles the top of the funnel for free
  4. 04When to use video and when it will cost you the clicks
  5. 05The forty eight hours after, where a launch turns into revenue
  6. 06What to measure instead of impressions, and what this playbook cannot do

The honest limit, which is stated inside the document too: this is two launches, not a law. Both B2B, both founder led, both with a network the founder was willing to spend four days working through. Skip that part and you'll get roughly the reach your account already had.
